Webinar Details

The overtime threshold is the salary level that helps decide which employees are owed overtime for working more than 40 hours in a workweek. This 90-minute webinar on the DOL overtime threshold explains how a proposed increase would affect employers and employees, and how to review exempt and non-exempt status.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, non-exempt employees earn at least one and a half times their regular rate for hours over 40 in a seven-day workweek. Exempt status depends on the salary threshold and job duties, not job titles, and isn't simply blue collar versus white collar.

Misclassification is one of the most common compliance mistakes, and it can spill over into attendance, timesheets, payroll and benefits problems.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?

Whether an employee is hourly or salaried isn't left entirely to the employer, and getting it wrong can mean fines and penalties. A change to the salary threshold can shift employees' classification and affect your budget, so employers need to review their workforce before any new rule takes effect.

The session suits employers in all industries, business owners and leadership, compliance professionals, payroll administrators, HR professionals, and managers and supervisors.
