Webinar Details

For years the trend was to combine vacation and sick leave into one paid time off (PTO) bank. Now mandatory paid sick leave laws have many employers reconsidering. This 75-minute PTO vs sick and vacation webinar reviews moving in either direction.

Paid sick leave is required by a number of states and municipalities, more have considered it, and a federal law has been discussed. Federal contractors must have a sick leave policy, and municipal contracts may bring their own rules. Because many states require payout of unused PTO at termination but not unused sick leave, PTO may become less attractive.

You'll compare the two approaches, run a cost-benefit analysis and learn to plan and communicate the change.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?

Paid sick leave legislation means time off policies must change. Multi-state employers face different accrual rules and permitted uses in each state and city, and leave abuse is a concern under mandatory programs. Compliance is manageable when you know the rules.

This session suits HR professionals, payroll administrators, benefits professionals and business managers who design or administer time off plans.
